At least three people have died and a number of primary school students have been wounded after a string of shootings in northern California.
A shooter opened fire around 8 AM local time at a home in Rancho Tehama, north of Sacramento, before wounding at least three students at the Rancho Tehama Elementary School.
The shooter is understood to have been killed by law enforcement authorities.
Wounded students were medevaced to nearby hospitals. No students are thought to have been killed in the incident.
All other student were transported to a safe location following the shooting.
Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston said that around one hundred law enforcement personnel were investigating five separate scenes relating to the incident.
