Here’s A Shirtless Man Fighting Deadpool At A North Queensland Bus Stop

Given just how extensive and cross-platform the marketing campaign for Deadpool 2 has been, it’s impossible to rule out that a street brawl in Cairns involving a shirtless man and a man dressed as Deadpool wasn’t just another form of advertising for the film.

The tussle, uploaded to YouTube on May 25 by user ‘beatlemike9‘, could not be more aggressively North Queensland if it tried. As two kids on bikes watch from close by, a man wearing only thongs and what appear to be Gold Coast Titans footy shorts engages in somewhat lethargic hand-to-hand combat with the man in the Deadpool costume, who is identified by the person holding the camera as “the Power Ranger“.

Speaking to the Cairns Post, Jake Bingham (the man in the Deadpool costume) claimed that the shirtless man was intoxicated, had called him “the n-word”, and told him to get out of his country. Obviously, there’s a lot going on there.

The Post also notes that Bingham was placed under a $500 good behaviour for “public nuisance” in December thanks to the fact that his costume includes “imitation weapons“.
