Scott Morrison Says Everyone Who Has Problems With Fatman Scoop Is A Narc

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has again responded to criticism of the strange Fatman Scoop video his team posted on social media last night, telling reporters in Sydney that using the track Be Faithful was the wrong call – and admitting he hasn’t finished his quest to connect to everyday Australia.

Discussing the short clip, which showed members of the Coalition raising their hands in Parliament to 2004 hit’s hook, Morrison said “a bit of fun but it’s quite clear that that’s not a song that’s on my playlist”.

Curiosity surrounding the video turned to ridicule as social media users posted the full lyrics to the song, which includes the phrase “who fuckin’ tonight?” The video also drew scrutiny for the seeming insult of incredibly well-paid pollies being soundtracked by the credo “If you got a hundred dollar bill, put your hands up.”

In response to all of that, Morrison apologised, but said “we’re just trying to connect honestly with people, and some of the narcs will get worked up about this sort of thing but it was a bit of fun.”

The video was one of many little curiosities sprinkled about by Morrison’s team in an attempt to differentiate him from ex-PM Malcolm Turnbull, and to establish him as a real ridgey-didge man of the people.

What people are seriously vibing to that song in 2018 remains to be answered, but the fact Morrison has openly admitted he wants to sell his personality to the Australian public is genuinely interesting.

Maybe next time the video will just be him fist-pumping along to this:
