Scientology Is About To Go Live With A Probably Perfectly Normal TV Channel

Buckle up folks, the Scientology Network is droppin’ in a couple of hours and there are a whole bunch of original series to raise an eyebrow at. The network will be available and premier on DirectTV, but you can also stream it on Apple, Roku and Amazon Fire. So you can hook it up to your TV and make a Friday night out of it. The app is also completely free on iTunes and Google Play if you just wanna suss it out.

The often mocked religion gets thrown around in the media a lot but some people still aren’t completely familiar with just what Scientology is. So according to their website Scientology,

“…is a religion that offers a precise path leading to a complete and certain understanding of one’s true spiritual nature and one’s relationship to self, family, groups, Mankind, all life forms, the material universe, the spiritual universe and the Supreme Being.”

Scientologist don’t worship a particular god, rather the theory of infinite existence.

“The ultimate goal of Scientology is true spiritual enlightenment and freedom of all.”

Sooooo that aside, what kind of shows  are the network debuting?

According to their Twitter, the original series will give an intimate look into just what the Church of Scientology get up to. One show is titled Meet A Scientologist and by the looks of the trailer, celebrities are included so maybe Tom Cruise will show up. Maybe. Another show is Voice for Humanity and Destination: Scientology. But perhaps the most curious one is  L. Ron Hubbard in His Own Voice. If you’re unfamiliar with the religion, Hubbard is the founder of Scientology and the show aims to walk through his earlier life as an explorer, author, humanitarian and then his founding of the Church of Scientology.

Safe to say, the Scientology twitter page is pretty pumped. They’ve fired off about ten tweets today complete with a Youtube countdown. They also want everyone to know the network will be 24 hours a day, seven days a week. #intense
