Trump Just Fired His New Comms Director After 10 Wild Days On The Job

Well, that didn’t take long. Donald Trump has fired his new communications director Anthony “Mooch” Scaramucci after just ten days on the job.

Scaramucci was known for two things during his very short tenure: replacing Sean Spicer, and unleashing the mother of all on-the-record tirades at a journalist from the New Yorker – where he said, among other things, that he wasn’t in the White House to “suck [his] own cock.”

Now he’s out. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee-Sanders delivered the news in a reasonably civil statement:

Anthony Scaramucci will be leaving his role as White House Communications Director. Mr. Scaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team. We wish him all the best.

The John Kelly mentioned above is the new White House Chief of Staff, having replaced Reince Priebus, who was also booted from his gig. It’s a bit of a bloodbath in there, folks. It’s been pretty widely reported that it was Kelly who ousted Scaramucci.

According to the NYT, Kelly told a gathering of aides that he intended to impose more order onto a chaotic White House – and it stands to reason that a slick-talking high finance huckster who acts like a hired goon on The Sopranos is not entirely aligned with this new system. Strange!

Just hours before the Mooch was axed, Trump tweeted that there was “no White House chaos,” which seems entirely untrue given the evidence.

To add insult to injury, a second report today from The Washington Post suggests that Scaramucci has accidentally been listed as dead in the Harvard Law School alumni directory. So not only has he lost his job, he’s also apparently dead now too. Guy can’t catch a break.

Oh, and he was also divorced last week, and was with Trump when his ex-wife gave birth to their child. So there’s also that to contend with, in case you were wondering. Safe to say that things are not coming up Milhouse for the Mooch.

We leave you with a tweet from the Mooch, from happier times. Vale.
