Perth DJ Arrested In San Francisco After Allegedly Trying To Kidnap Toddler

A Perth man has been arrested in San Francisco after allegedly attempting to kidnap a toddler off the street in broad daylight.

Citing local police, the San Francisco Chronicle states Roscoe Bradley Holyoake, 34, grabbed a two-year-old boy from his mother in the city’s popular Castro District on Friday.

After an alleged struggle with the boy’s mother, Holyoake ran off with the child. Referencing eyewitness reports, ABC states he made it half a block before dropping the boy, grinning at onlookers, and sprinting off.

Authorities responded to calls from the public around 12:24pm and arrived to find Holyoake being detained by passers-by.

Roscoe was arrested on a felony charge of kidnapping.

The two-year-old boy reportedly sustained minor injuries.

Roscoe is reportedly a well-known DJ in Perth, performing under the stage name DJ Roski. In addition to regular club night appearances and performances surrounding Sydney Mardi Gras, he has also volunteered for community radio station RTRFM.

He is being held at San Francisco County Jail with bail set at AUD $696,000.
