The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, the dark and gritty Netflix reboot of Sabrina The Teenage Witch, starts shooting in a week, and we are beside ourselves with excitement. The cast and crew have been teasing us with intriguing updates for a while now, and earlier today, star Kiernan Shipka gave us a good look at the feline who will be playing Sabrina’s cat familiar, Salem.
The young actress shared a video of the kitty on her Instagram stories, and here’s what we saw:
This follows a Tweet last month from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Chief Creative Officer of Archie Comics and producer of Sabrina and Riverdale, where we got our first spooky look at the feline.

The Salem of the ’90s TV series was prone to sassy comebacks and one-liners, and was depicted as a powerful warlock who had been sentenced to live in cat form for 100 years after trying to take over the world. Here are some of his cute and cuddly highlights:
The current version, from the Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina graphic novels, has a slightly darker origin story, and is “a human who was turned into a cat by Salem’s witches after getting a witch pregnant and refusing to marry her.”
We are dead keen to see how this tuns out.
