Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have reportedly given a total of USD$1 million to charities aiding Syrian refugees, and urged others to do the same via social media.

The Borat creator and Fisher donated USD$500,000 to Save the Children, which is raising money to help protect over 250,000 children from a threatened measles outbreak in Syria.
They gave the other USD$500,000 to the International Rescue Committee, a charity run by former UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband aiding refugees in Syria and neighbouring countries such as Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon with health care, shelter and sanitation.
Chief executive of Save the Children Justin Forsyth said the money would “save many thousands of lives and protect some of the most vulnerable children.”
“By allowing us to make their generous donation to Syrian children public, Sacha and Isla are helping highlight the tragedy of the issue today.”
