A Woman Was Fired From Multiple Jobs Bc She Forgot To Return A Sabrina The Teenage Witch VHS

Sabrina

A woman has a criminal record and was let go from multiple jobs because she *checks notes* forgot to return a Sabrina the Teenage Witch VHS over 20 years ago.

Caron McBride borrowed a copy of the cult-TV classic at an Oklahoma video store in March 2000 and unbeknownst to her, has now spent years as a wanted felon for “felony embezzlement.”

McBride only found out she was a wanted felon when she went to change the name on her license after getting married. While trying to get her license name changed, she was then told it wouldn’t be possible due to her criminal record.

“The first thing she told me was ‘felony embezzlement,’ so I thought I was gonna have a heart attack,” McBride told NBC.

At the Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office, our witchy felon was told that she has a record  for failing to return a Sabrina VHS. The worst part is that McBride doesn’t even like Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and can’t really remember why she borrowed the VHS in the first place.

“I had lived with a young man. This was over 20 years ago. He had two kids, daughters that were 8, 10 or 11 years old. I’m thinking he went and got it and didn’t take it back or something. I don’t know. I have never watched that show in my entire life, just not my cup of tea,” she said.

It might seem funny to have a criminal record over a Sabrina VHS, but a record has serious long-term effects. McBride now thinks that she’s been let go from several jobs after they found out about her ‘criminal’ record.

“This is why. It’s because when they ran my criminal background check, all they’re seeing is those two words: felony embezzlement,” McBride said.

McBride will now need her case completely erased in order to clean her record. Yikes.

Let’s hope it was at least one of the early seasons of Sabrina, and not one of those weird, later seasons where she goes to college.
