Russh Magazine’s June issue has hit news stands and if it looks a little strange but you can’t quite put your finger on why it’s probably because it has a MAN on the cover (gasp). For the first time ever Russh Australia have a dude fronting an issue – and, of course, the first time you put a man on the cover you’d want to make it a pretty damn special man…
Enter Tony Ward: legendary model, former boyfriend of Madonna (he appears in the videos for Erotica and Justify My Love as well as featuring heavily in her SEX book), star of cult gay-porn classic Hustler White, designer of hideous clothing line, painter, photographer… The guy is something of a pop culture god.
Russh’s June cover and the accompanying spread “Bunny Ain’t No Kind Of Rider” was shot by Will Davidson, styled by Stevie Dance, and also starring stunning Latvian model Ieva Laguna. It’s easily one of my favourite Australian editorial spreads that I’ve seen in ages.
