Russell Brand Weighs In On The Bali 9 Execution Debate With Some ‘Trews’

There’s been a lot said, and perhaps even more written, about the legal connotations and ethical murkiness of Indonesia‘s decision to enforce imminent (but as yet indeterminate) execution upon convicted Bali 9 members Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.

And public opinion, by and large, is rather distinctly split into two sides – those that oppose the death penalty in all its forms and who vehemently oppose state-endorsed murder, and those who take the side of the law and insist that the nature of the crime and the region it took place warrants the sentence.
Comedian, political commentator, and general shirtless person Russell Brand weighed in with his researched opinion, putting together another instalment of his “Trews” web-series, and talking about a topic that has seemingly struck a personal chord; Brand himself being a recovering drug addict.
As always, his opinions are very loud and strong willed – it’s bound to divide at least a few of you.
So whether you agree with him, whether you don’t, or whether you’re a bit miffed that he insists on recording this show shirtless, the bottom line is it’s your choice to make.

So, what do you reckon?
