Rug Up Dickwads, It’s Gonna Be The Coldest Weekend Of The Year

Shove yr heater into yr mattress and chuck yr undies on the broiler, dingoes, it’s shaping up to be the coldest weekend of the year. No doubt about it, it’s gonna get CHILLY.

The dead centre of winter is coinciding beautifully with a weekend where temperatures in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra, and Brisbane are set to dip well below average across the board.

The temperature is forecast to dip below freezing in certain parts of Sydney early on Saturday morning, meanwhile Brisbane and Melbourne are copping rude awakenings to the weekend with frigid temperatures blasting their way through both cities.

As far as Sydney city is concerned, Saturday is set to kick off with a chilly 6-degree morning. But in the west it could well be much colder. Penrith in particular is forecast to give the mark of zero a fair nudge, dipping well below its previous 2018 low point of 1.5.

Meanwhile up in Brisbane it’s gonna be similarly fresh, with a morning of 6 expected as well. Meaning Queenslanders might actually have to wear long pants for a change. That alone is enough to cause anarchy TBH.

Adelaide is set to register an overnight low of 5, and Melbourne is gonna be even colder than that, dropping down to a bone-aching 3 degrees. So now might be the time to start Googling which pubs have open fireplaces and good mulled wine.

But spare a thought for your poor mates in Canberra, who are copping the full brunt of winter’s kiss thanks to an unfathomably chilly morning of minus 5.

MINUS 5.

TOO COLD NO THANK YOU.

The cold temperatures are set to continue throughout the weekend until at least Monday, representing the coldest run of mornings we’ve seen thus far in 2018.

Keen for a warmer break? Consider a last-minute flight to Perth. Their overnight low of 9 is positively balmy by comparison.

The key to survival? Layers, mates. It’s all about the layers.
