The RSPCA’s $29 Adoptions Are Back So Start Pleading For A New Floof

As it always happens around this time of year, the RSPCA is absolutely teeming with adoptable angels looking for forever homes, and so it’s time once again for the Clear The Shelters drive, with fees dropped to $29 for adoptions all weekend.

Last year the RSPCA saw well over 2500 precious animals find their adoptive humans and a fur-ever home, which is GREAT and so very fantastic to know that people are actively choosing to adopt from shelters instead of shopping from puppy farms and breeders.

If you’ve been trying to convince your parents, partner, housemates, landlords, yourself about taking on a fluffy friend, well then consider the cheaper adoption fees another piece of vital ammunition for your argument. An urgent bargaining chip. It only happens once a year and it’s this weekend! You gotta act quick!

The $29 fee applies to all creatures great and small, so whether you want a guinea pig or a pony, you’ll pay the same price. Everything else in the process of being a New Adoptive Parent is the same though; you gotta have a one on one chat and introduce any fur-family, and all the animals will all have had their shots, chips, wormings, and desexing.

The $29 fee doesn’t cover any council rego though, so make sure you get that one sorted if you’re thinking of taking a little (or big) friend home.

You can head along to your local RSPCA shelter, care centre, or Petbarn everywhere except RSPCA Tasmania and Darwin (sorry) to meet and greet all the precious floofers and scaly sweethearts up for adoption, or if you wanna have an early peek you can see all the adoptable darlings near you over on the Adopt A Pet site.

If you’re in NSW and wanna commit to a new cutie, you can pre-register over here so you’ve got your best paw forward.

So there you go. We’ve given you the vital tools to make another attempt at pleading for a new cat, dog, bird, lizard, horse, or whatever you like. Use it wisely, and godspeed.
