Rick Genest, The Model And Artist Known As ‘Zombie Boy’, Has Died Age 32

Rick Genest, the artist and model known as Zombie Boy for his head-to-toe tattoos, has died. He was 32.

CBC reports Genest was found dead in his Montreal apartment on Wednesday. Police are treating his death as a suicide.

Genest rose to international stardom after featuring in Lady Gaga‘s 2011 film clip for Born This Way, where his authentic body art was mirrored in makeup on the pop star.

Gaga has addressed the loss of her friend on Twitter, saying Genest’s death is “beyond devastating.”

Genest’s career in modelling saw him collaborate with magazines like GQ Italia and Vanity Fair, and walk the runway for brands like Mugler.

In addition to his modelling career and varied creative work, Genest was reportedly recording an album with ex-Rob Zombie guitarist Mike Riggs at the time of his death.
