Remain Calm, But Chris Pratt May Have Half-Teased A ‘Parks & Rec’ Movie

Remain calm. Nobody panic. Everybody make sure to breathe and everything’s going to be ok.

We need to state that anytime an actor says they “can’t rule anything out” it’s code for “it’s not happening,” and that in this case he’s probably just talking out of his magnificent butt.
But even still…
Chris Pratt kinda sorta half-teased a speculative ‘Parks & Recreation‘ movie down the road and no one in our office can cope.
The much beloved show finished its run with the perfect and brilliant and very touching final episode, which aired in February 2015.
Of the cast, Pratt is quite clearly the one who has kicked the most career goals since leaving Pawnee, with a string of mega-blockbuster films under his belt and the new sci-fi bonanza ‘Passengers‘ with Jennifer Lawrence set to hit cinemas later this month.
However, his heart will always be with Andy Dwyer aka Johnny Karate aka Burt Macklin aka Kip Hackman aka Sir Andrew Maxwell Dwyer KBE, as it turns out.
On the press tour for ‘Passengers,’ Pratt stopped by the Sway’s Universe radio show on US satellite radio to discuss the film, working with J-Law, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
But a phone call from a fan of the world’s greatest FBI agent had Pratt speculating wildly about a future that has more new Parks & Rec in it.
Well, it’s hard to say. I would never rule it out. There’s jobs I’ve done in the past where I could safely say I would never do that again, but Parks & Rec is not one of them.”

“We did do seven seasons, y’know somewhere along the lines of 150 episodes. So eventually you start running out of stories to tell. But because of the nature of that show kinda mimicking time, I definitely wouldn’t rule out seeing it again; seeing us get back together for something, for a movie, or for another season down the line. Possible spinoffs or whatever.”

“I love the character of Andy Dwyer so much. I put so much of my heart and my soul into that character. My comedic clown, my comedic schtick that I’ve been working on since I could walk is that character. He’s the personification of everything about me that is comedic. And getting an opportunity to work on that show for 150 episodes was just a dream come true. So I would definitely bring it back.”

Again, ok, calm. This is just him riffing. It’s nothing concrete.
BUT OH MAN CAN YOU IMAGINE.
Leslie Knope operating in a Trump-led world. Ron trying to cope with everyone being ridiculous conspiracy theory nuts (Pawnee would be full of ’em). Jerry continuing to be the absolute worst.
The possibilities! Oh man oh man oh man.
