Queensland Man Attempts To Rob A Petrol Station With A Boomerang, Fails

A Brisbane man has been arrested after attempting to rob a service station with a boomerang, reigniting concern over the state’s lenient boomerang ownership laws.

The unnamed man escaped more serious punishment as nothing was stolen and no one was hurt during the incident.
Speaking with BuzzFeed Australia, a Queensland Police spokesperson said the man was later served with a minor public nuisance misdemeanour: “The man entered the service station and threatened a man behind the counter with the boomerang,” they said. “He was later arrested but was not charged. He appeared in court in relation to public nuisance.”
Our hope is that he was swiftly apprehended because he couldn’t dispose of the weapon properly.
