Queen’s Guard Royally Roasted Amid Claims Of “Horrific” Snapchat Sex Abuse

WARNING: This post discusses sexual assault.

Yikes: The Queen’s Guard is facing turmoil today in the United Kingdom as police and army bosses investigate claims that young recruits are forced to perform degrading sex acts as part of hazing rituals within the organisations.
A specific incident, where two male recruits were filmed as they were told to strip and perform sexual acts on one another in front of a group of older guardsmen. “It was totally out of control. People should be in jail for this,” a source told The Sun newspaper.
The incident took place at the Pirbright Barracks in Surrey, amongst recruits for the 2 Company, Welsh Guards.
The video was reportedly shared around the barracks via email, WhatsApp and SnapChat, where it was eventually seen by a more senior officer who reported it to the Regional Sergeant Major. Apparently, a Lance Corporal and five other soldiers have been punished.
The Sun’s source continued:
“The footage had spread like wildfire. Everyone was on their phones and pointing out the blokes it had happened to. They were mocked for being gay, although they were forced into the acts. It was horrific and worse than anything I have ever known in the Army.”

The unfortunate correlation between hazing rituals and sexual abuse have been identified as an issue in a number of military jurisdictions, including Australia, where an extensive report on abuse within the Australian Defence Force, which identified widespread problems.
