QLD Cops Celebrated 4/20 By Seizing $2.5 Million Worth Of Cannabis

Yesterday, detectives from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad seized 300kg of cannabis worth approximately $2.5 million. Ya know what that means, right?

EVEN THE COPPERS CELEBRATED 4/20 YESTERDAY.

They just didn’t want to pay for it. Stingy fucks.
Yes, April 20th – the day we all celebrate the devil’s lettuce whether or not we actually smoke it – has been and gone, but this is one last marijuana yarn to send it out on a high.

A vehicle containing about 90kg of weed was intercepted last night, which triggered a coordinated execution of search warrants across addresses in Southport, Caboolture and Redcliffe. Those raids succeeded in police seizing a further 210kg of cannabis and $10,940 in cash, and led to more raids the following morning (i.e. today) during which a further 13kg were seized.

Four people were charged with 26 drug offences, and are expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today; a further seven people were charged with 18 offences, and are expected to appear in court over the next three weeks.

All those involved in Operation Goldensilk are probably involved in some serious back-patting right now, hey.
