QANTAS Offers Free Flights To Say Sorry

QANTAS wants to say sorry to all the Australian residents inconvenienced by the grounding of their entire fleet last weekend by atoning customers with gratis flights.

Passengers whose trips were screwed by the Qantas industrial action are entitled to a free return economy flight within Australia or to New Zealand over a two-year period from 14 December 2011.

“This ticket offer is one of a range of initiatives we will be launching as a way of saying sorry,” Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said in a statement. “Throughout the long period of industrial activity we have been acutely aware of the impact on our customers.”

It’s going to take more than a return trip to Port Douglas to restore the Australian public’s faith in the beleaguered airline… although it definitely won’t hurt. After all, free shit is the best way to say “I’m sorry”.
