Q&A Ledge Duncan Could Buy 1,000 Toasters With The $20K Y’All Raised So Far

If you’re a fan of good news, then boy have you ever come to the right place.

The GoFundMe campaign set up for Duncan, the hero who put Federal Assistant Treasurer Kelly O’Dwyer on the spot on Monday’s episode of Q&Areached its goal of raising $6,000 in a mere 5 hours.
But as last night wore on, and the campaign gathered more and more steam, the funds kept rolling in.
This morning, 18 hours after the campaign was started, the amount of funds donated by generous so-and-sos officially tipped over $20,000. At the time time of writing (it’s literally going up by the second), the amount raised stood at $21,145.
That amount is enough to buy nearly 4 $6,000 toasters. Or 1,112 Kambrook two-slice toasters from K-Mart at $19.00 a pop.
Even if The Australian has decided to use their front page to have a wee crack at the poor bloke, it’s clear that the Australian public has empathy for his story (and that of all low-income struggling families and individuals), even when politicians and Coalition-supporting media do not.
The ledges who set up the GoFundMe campaign are aiming to get in touch with the mythical Duncan today, and the campaign remains on-going if you feel like chucking in a few more spare dollars.
When you’re trying to live off Government benefits, every bit of help counts.
Onya, Duncan. You absolute champion.
