Extremely loved-up couple Meghan Markle and some ginger prince have released new pics to mark their engagement, and it’s hard not to feel a strange tiding of joy for this couple.
Prince Harry wore a blue suit that’s probably worth a small house deposit, and Markle wore a sheer couture dress by fashion label Ralph & Russo, which is rumoured be worth almost $100,000. (£56,000, according to the Daily Mail, which roughly works out to be $Au 97,000.)
Another, close-up pic show the couple looking sickeningly happy, with Markle’s ring – designed by Prince Harry, as a tribute to his late mother, Princess Diana – prominently featured. That sparkly little number is estimated by experts to be worth up to $US 300,000 ($AU 390,000), or, considering the sentimental value, even to be priceless.
“Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments following the release of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle’s engagement photographs,” said Kensington Palace.
“The couple are so grateful for the warm and generous messages they have received during such a happy time in their lives.”
The palace – a spokesperson, not the literal building – later shared another, candid shot of the couple taken on the same day, as a “way to say thank you” for the warm messages.
The pics were taken by celebrity photographer Alexi Lubormirski, who has worked with celebrated photographer and royal favourite, Mario Testinto.
“A huge thank you to His Royal Highness Prince Harry and Ms Markle for allowing me to take their official engagement photos,” he wrote on Instagram. “Not only was it an incredible honour, but also an immense privilege to be invited to share and be witness to this young couple’s love for each other. I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos we took.”
