Prince Charles Will Walk Meghan Markle Down The Aisle

Following Meghan Markle’s official statement last night confirming her father, Thomas Markle, would not walk her down the aisle, Kensington Palace have released another update now confirming Prince Charles will accompany Meghan down the aisle.

The statement reads:

“Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St. George’s Chapel on her Wedding Day. The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way.”

After everything that has gone down this week, this is genuinely sweet news to hear.

Yesterday, Meghan’s statement to the world read:

“Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health.

I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday.”

According to numerous reports, Thomas underwent heart surgery recently following a heart attack. The health scare, caused by stress, came about after Daily Mail caught whiff of the apparently staged paparazzi shots of Thomas being measured for a suit and posing with a book about British landmarks.

Thomas reportedly pulled out of the wedding earlier this week because he didn’t want to cause his daughter or the Royal Family any more embarrassment.

Hopefully, this is the last ‘update’ we’ll receive until the Royal Wedding finally kicks off because hoo boy, it’s been one helluva wild ride.

The Royal Wedding will air on Channel 7 from 6PM, Channel 9 from 7PM, ABC from 7:30PM, and SBS from 7:30PM as well.
