Who doesn’t love a good, old-fashioned fright in the cinema? Horror movies have a proud tradition of gifting people giddy thrills by loading their pantaloons with fear-induced poop, and Australian export James Wan is arguably one of the best modern proponents of the much beloved genre.
Wan’s surprise 2013 hit The Conjuring caught just about everyone in the biz off-guard, belying its meagre budget of $20million to make cash hand-over-fist whilst raking in positive reviews, most of which praised the film for its simplicity and back-to-basics genre worship.
And if nothing else, the one true thing about Hollywood is if something makes money once, then sequels are a certainty.
So here, for all your squealing glee, is the first trailer for The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist. Brace thyselves.
The new effort again features Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. Meanwhile, Frances O’Connor, Lauren Esposito, Madison Wolfe, Benjamin Haigh, and Patrick McAuley all join the cast.
The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist is due to hit cinemas on June 10th.
