Police Confirm That Ex-Boyfriend Of Preethi Reddy Has Died In A Car Crash

UPDATE: The original reporting in this article stated that the man who died in the Tamworth crash was Preethi Reddy’s boyfriend. Police have now confirmed the man was an ex-partner of Reddy, and we have amended the article accordingly.

Police have revealed more details surrounding the disappearance and murder of Sydney woman Preethi Reddy, whose body was found in a suitcase that was inside her car, in Kingsford on Tuesday night.

SMH reports that police confirmed Reddy’s ex-boyfriend has died following a car accident near Tamworth, shortly after speaking with detectives regarding Reddy’s disappearance on Sunday. It has been confirmed that he deliberately drove his car into the path of a semi-trailer.

Original reports were that the man was Reddy’s current partner, after Sunrise made the following statement.

“He did speak with detectives a few hours after the dentist went missing on Sunday morning, but we do understand that he was involved in a collision with a semi-trailer not long after that interview, somewhere near Tamworth.

However, it has since been ascertained that the man involved in the car accident was an ex-partner of Reddy. Police have stated that Reddy and her ex-partner had stayed at a hotel in Sydney’s CBD on Market Street Sunday.

Reddy, a dentist from Sydney’s Western Suburbs, went missing on Sunday morning. She was last seen at Macdonalds following the Mardi Gras parade, and last spoke to her family at around 11am on Sunday, letting them know she was heading home. The call did not seem suspicious.

Her body was discovered at 9.30pm on Tuesday night after an extensive search.
