While we wipe the barely dried tears that have crusted on our cheeks from – oh – the last 20 hours or so that brought the devastating news of Alan Rickman‘s death aged 69, Harry Potter fans have begun laying flowers at Platform 9 3/4 in a tribute to the late actor / Potions Master.

Over in Universal Studios, Florida, lilies have been laid outside the door for the potion’s classroom, in honour of Severus Snape‘s eternal love for Lily Potter née Evans.
Everyone leaving flowers – just bless you, really. Now we must attempt to rewatch all eight Harry Potter films while choking back snotty tears and just marvelling over the fact that a stupendous actor agreed to play a small part in a children’s movie about magic and we are all the better for it.
