Someone Has Already Grunted Out A Fake Twitter Account For The Poo Jogger

Never underestimate Australia’s ability to take something mostly serious that’s like… kinda a bit funny… and take the piss out of it.

Or, indeed, the shit.

The absolute fascination with the case of Brisbane’s Poo Jogger has been rife all throughout the day, following word this morning that the curious case of the mystery bloke unloading heaving turds on the footpath while jogging in the wee hours of the morning has been solved, with charges laid against an alleged suspect.

That suspect, Anthony Douglas Macintosh, was subsequently revealed to be a high-profile corporate official at a leading Australian retirement village group, and when news of his poopscapades broke, the accused summarily resigned from his position at the company.

Ordinarily that’d be the end of proceedings then and there. But because it’s 2018 and the internet exists, we now have the hastily thrown together Poo Jogger Twitter account, splattering half-baked jokes out onto the world wide web.

The @poojogger handle – which, unbelievably, did not have the old Engaged sign switched on it – was snapped up and roared to life a few hours ago, coming out of the blocks hot with a couple of choice, if not crappy, gags.

Good gear that. Subtle. Nothing overstated about the jokes. Nice and punchy. All in all, top quality internettery.

‘Course like all unplanned Twitter feeds go, things petered out quickly. After shaking the first pair of joke off into the great bowl of Twitter, the quality took a turd for the worse.

Not long thereafter, the feed fizzled to a halt, with whoever was behind it now content to sit there for a few minutes after doing the deed to take stock of their life.

The one thing a joke and a ripping great bog have in common? You shouldn’t force either.

There’s a lesson in this for all of us.
