Police Have Stormed The Lindt Cafe In Martin Place

The tense stand off involving police and an unidentified person holding people hostage inside the Lindt Chocolate Cafe in Sydney’s Martin Place has come to a dramatic head, with heavily armed police forces storming the cafe at around 2am, following the release of several hostages.

It’s unconfirmed how many hostages were released before the police operation began. Several loud bangs and flashes were seen on live news images. Emergency services were very quick in their response, with several paramedic crews racing up Martin Place following the operation.
It is unconfirmed if there are injuries at this point.
NSW Police have now confirmed the Siege is over.
