Queensland Police have arrested a 50-year-old woman over the alleged contamination of strawberries in Queensland in September.
The arrest was made after numerous punnets of strawberries were contaminated with needles, sparking a national crisis and a series of copycat offenders.
Queensland authorities described the arrest as the result of a “complex investigation”.
The Queensland Police Service operated a national investigation with multiple government, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies.
The woman was taken into police custody on Sunday afternoon and is expected to be charged this evening.
She is set to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
