Pls Don’t Stop The Vivid: Projections Will Show At Opera House All-Yr Round

If you were one of the 1.7 million people who visited Circular Quay during Vivid Festival this year in Sydney, then you were likely hypnotised by the gorgeous ‘Songlines’ projections that lit up the Sydney Opera House
‘Songlines’ featured dazzling animations of artworks by Aboriginal artists, and now, a new smaller-scale lighting display showing on Bennelong Restaurant all-year round will take inspiration from this and tell the story of the land’s Indigenous owners.
Chairman of the Sydney Opera House Trust and first donor of the new project, Nicholas Moore, will plan the new lighting concept with in collaboration with Bangarra Dance Theatre’s Stephen Page and Opera House trustee Deborah Mailman.
“I obviously thought it was a very worthwhile project.

You can’t help but be inspired (with what) Rhoda [Roberts, Opera House head of indigenous programming]’s done in terms of Vivid — it really is fantastic.”
The project, which has estimated costs of around $1 million, will reportedly be funded completely by donors.
There’s no word yet on when this project will launch, but we’ll keep you updated.
