Former Playboy model Karen McDougal has told New Yorker reporter Ronan Farrow that she and President of the United States Donald Trump had an ongoing affair, starting in 2006.
The New Yorker report says that McDougal and Trump met in 2006, at a taping of The Apprentice at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles. According to Farrow, documents handwritten by McDougal after the affair detail nine months of clandestine meetings, in which Trump went to extreme lengths to conceal his infidelity – including having McDougal escorted to his apartment by a security guard, and insisting she book her own flights (which he’d then reimburse) so there was no paper trail.

Eventually, McDougal says, she ended the affair, after struggling with feelings of guilt. Melania Trump had given birth to Barron Trump just a few months before the affair began.

The affair allegedly overlaps with Trump’s reported encounter with adult film actress Stormy Daniels, which is alleged to have happened during a golf tournament at Lake Tahoe. McDougal says she was also attending the event.
McDougal says that American Media Inc., a tabloid publisher, bought her story in 2016 during Trump’s election race, in order to “catch and kill” it – i.e., to ensure it never got published. The New Yorker article suggests that by doing this, AMI wields a shocking amount of leverage over the bloke in charge of the US.

It’s a wild ride from start to finish, this story, and people are fairly stunned by it:
“For Trump, showing off real estate and other branded products was sometimes a prelude to sexual advances.” https://t.co/RrAxSgoNfK

“Purchasing a story in order to bury it is a practice that many in the tabloid industry call “catch and kill.” This is a favorite tactic of the C.E.O. and chairman of A.M.I., David Pecker, who describes the President as “a personal friend.””https://t.co/y263O2Y5P0

3. Remember that American Media not only does catch and kill for Trump…they also did it for Weinstein (as @RonanFarrow also reported).https://t.co/pWsFNNU67A pic.twitter.com/EOBkYTLE2d
