A US man has flown a small jet into his own house in Payson, Utah just hours after a domestic dispute with his wife.
Authorities say the man, Dwayne Youd, was killed in the collision, but his wife and a child – who were in the house at the time – managed to escape.
Youd was arrested on the weekend by police after witnesses alleged he was assaulting his wife. He was bailed, and went with police to the house to collect his belongings. This trip reportedly occurred without incident.
However, hours later he took a plane, believed to belong to his employer, from the nearby Spanish Fork-Springville Airport. It is believed Youd is an experienced pilot, and he flew directly to the Peyton neighbourhood where the house was located and crashed into it.
As can be seen from the photos, the damage to the house’s front exterior is severe, though the structure itself seems mostly intact.
