Pippa Middleton gives birth to a baby boy

It’s all bloody happening over in the royal and royal-adjacent families, folks. Barely 72 hours after showing up to the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank last Friday, and the same day that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their own pregnancy, UK socialite, columnist, and baby sis of KateDuchess Of CambridgePippa Middleton, has given birth to a baby boy. P H E W, that’s a lot to take in, innit?

Truly, what the hell is in the water over there in the UK?

After announcing her pregnancy in June, the wee lad came into the world on Monday, October 15 at 1.58pm British time (so about 12.00am Tuesday morning Sydney time) and weighed in at 8 pounds, 9 ounces (just under four kilos for us metric system people).

Reports from a spokesperson have said that Pippa, 35, and husband James Matthews, 43, are delighted about the arrival of their first child and that mum and bub are doing well.

Royal correspondents have said that Prince William and Kate are thrilled by the arrival of the new baby.

Potentially the best announcement was by BBC‘s Simon McCoy, who managed to bumble his way through the announcement live on air.

Pippa was last spotted in the public eye in a super flattering deep emerald green dress for the royal nuptials at Windsor Castle, which also looked comfy as hell which is extremely what you want when you’re literally about to pop.

She’s also been documenting her pregnancy journey through her regular fitness column for Waitrose Inspiration, published by the UK supermarket chain Waitrose. In the piece about her final month of pregnancy, Pippa said that the awkward tightness in her body as it prepared for childbirth was “reality finally kicking in.

Pippa writes that she was stretching and walking in that last month, and also got into the habit of meditating for 20 minutes twice a day to take care of her mental well-being, and hopes it’ll help to keep her in check during the hectic times of motherhood.

I was sceptical at first, but after practising this discipline for the past month I have noticed a huge difference in my mental wellbeing and sense of clarity.
