Police have confirmed that Pete Davidson is “accounted for” and at work with the rest of the Saturday Night Live cast, hours after he shared a troubling post on Instagram and then deleted his account.

Per reports in the New York Times, police were called to perform a welfare check on Davidson after he made a post that began “I really don’t want to be on this earth anymore”, after which his account seemed to vanish.

NYPD officers then went to the Manhattan studio where SNL is filmed, and confirmed that the young comedian is currently there. A representative for NBC also contacted police to let them know that Davidson is “fine.”

Prior to his post, Davidson, who has been open in the past about his struggles with borderline personality disorder, had praised Kanye West for speaking out about his own experiences, saying:

“Bravo Kanye West for standing up for yourself and speaking out against mental health. I can’t explain to you enough how difficult and scary it is to be honest about stuff like this. We need people like Kanye. No one should ever point fingers at you for your bravery in speaking about mental health. I’m seriously disgusted.”

His concerning Instagram post led to an outpouring of support on social media:

Matt Damon is hosting this week’s instalment of SNL, with musical guests Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson.
