Wonderful news for those who, like me, believe the truth is indeed out there. The Pentagon has admitted that they ran a top-secret UFO research program for five years until 2012.
It was called the Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program, and was run by a single military intelligence official named Luis Elizondo. He claims that though the program ended due to a change in funding priorities within the defence, several of its initiatives continue under his successor, who we would not name.
There’s a massive report in the New York Times about this which dropped yesterday, which alleges that the program had a $22 million budget, much of which was allocated to an aerospace research company run by a billionaire entrepreneur named Robert Bigelow. For the record, Bigelow believes aliens are real and have visited Earth.
In a quote given to the Times, Bigelow bemoaned how far behind the U.S. is in UFO research:
Internationally, we are the most backward country in the world on this issue. Our scientists are scared of being ostracised, and our media is scared of the stigma. China and Russia are much more open and work on this with huge organisations within their countries. Smaller countries like Belgium, France, England and South American countries like Chile are more open, too. They are proactive and willing to discuss this topic, rather than being held back by a juvenile taboo.
After the NYT report dropped, the Pentagon officially confirmed the existence of the UFO research program, but stressed that it was now wrapped up. Spokespersom Laura Ochoas made the following statement to Reuters:
The Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program ended in the 2012 timeframe. It was determined that there were other, higher priority issues that merited funding and it was in the best interest of the [Department of Defence] to make a change. The DoD takes seriously all threats and potential threats to our people, our assets, and our mission and takes action whenever credible information is developed.
Cue the spooky theremin music folks. The truth is out there.
