Pauline Hanson, Oppressed Battler, Wants Parliament To Say Being White Is OK

One Nation Senator Pauline Hanson is planning to present a motion before the Upper House affirming that it is “okay to be white.”

The party’s leader revealed the grandstanding stunt on social media this morning, saying that she was inspired by the reaction to visiting Canadian alt-right agitator Lauren Southern.

The 23-year-old tried to stir controversy by wearing a shirt saying “it is OK to be white,” and was mainly just dunked on for her obvious need for attention.

Still, that niche backlash to an even nicher shit-stirrer was enough for an elected member of parliament to cook this up:

That flagrant piece of meaningless anti-politics is likely to be slapped down, considering it is… well, it’s already okay to be white. And nobody is arguing against that fact.

So, what’s the point of the proposed motion? It looks like something significant, even though it isn’t, and One Nation needs something to paper over the cracks of its overall uselessness in parliament.

Further, the motion seems to be a spotlight-stealing escalation after former One Nation crony Fraser Anning’s latest broken-brained musings on Twitter. Can’t have one loon stealing all of that shine.

It also acts as bait, so One Nation can claim victim status against detractors – that’s us! – when they speak up.

That said, this isn’t rage-inducing. Nor is it edgy, provocative, or even interesting.

It is transparent, stupid, and indicative of the emptiness of the One Nation platform.
