There It Is: Paul Vaughan Has Been Sacked From The Dragons For Hosting A Dumbass Lockdown Party

Paul Vaughan, the St George-Illawarra Dragons player who hosted the lockdown party last week, has been sacked from the team and had his $800,000 per year contract “torn up”, according to Fox Sports.

To add insult to injury, he’s also copped a $50,000 NRL fine. Fucking ouch, but extremely fair.

The decision was made at a board meeting on Tuesday, Fox Sports added, where officials made the decision to give him the boot, despite still having 15 months left on his contract. Meaning he’s already played his last game for the team without even knowing it at the time.

And for what? A fucking BBQ. Dumbest shit ever.

Prior to the board meeting, Dragons CEO Ryan Webb said that nothing would be “off the table” as they discussed Vaughn’s punishment and future with the team.

Webb told SEN he wouldn’t rule out taking the most severe action after the NRL handed down $305,000 worth of fines.

“There was a lot we had to talk through as a group, so I don’t think anything is off the table,” he said.

“I don’t know where the discussion will go, there’s a lot to sift through.

“We’ve got to make sure the board is aware of all the intricacies of how this played out and the reaction to everything by each of the players.

“Then we’ll make some decisions of what we want to do as a club.

“There’s a lot of people right now that have lost a lot of trust in our club and we’ve got to try and earn that back.”

Additional punishments for the other players in attendance at Vaughan’s party (including old mate who hid under the bed when cops rocked up) are yet to be made by officials.

Were the snags and schooies worth it, boys?
