Optus’ EPL Package Is Now Free ‘Til July 31 Bc Y’all Got Real Mad Online

ICYMI, they announced that EPL would only be available to Optus customers; you had to purchase a telco package of some kind, then purchase the $15 EPL package on top of that.
Today, the company has retracted the extra costs for a bit, offering free access to English Premier League content for existing and new customers for the next month.
Optus’ director of marketing and product Ben White said this about the deal:

“Optus has a track record of offering customers great value plans, packed with data and generous call inclusions, at affordable prices.

Today, we’re shaking up the market even more by offering our customers more of the content they love. From data free prepaid music streaming, to the Premier League, Optus is changing people’s expectations of their telco provider.

To celebrate our first Premier League season, we’re making it more affordable than ever by giving customers their first season for free on a range of plans from as little as $30 a month.”
But if you can’t get Optus where you live, you have to option to access EPL coverage with the telco’s Fetch TV mini-device – it can be used with any broadband provider for a $5 per month fee. It’s restricted to areas that cannot receive Optus though, and those customers will need to have an eligible mobile plan to get access.
“We understand that some customers either can’t or don’t want to change their broadband providers, but still want the Premier League.

The mini device is a great alternative because it works on any fixed internet service in Australia and gives fans access to the Premier League live and on demand via the big screen.”

SO, if you were one of the many that got ~extremely mad online~ over Optus’ exclusiveness and costs, then you have until the 31st of July to sign up to an Optus EPL plan and get that sweet, sweet football in your life fo’ much less ca$h mone¥.
