OH SHIT: A Same-Sex Marriage Bill Could Be Voted On Next Bloody Week

HERE WE, HERE WE, HERE WE, FUCKIN GO!

The ongoing national embarrassment that is Australia’s lack of marriage equality may be FINALLY resolved in parliament much sooner than previously thought, with the Herald Sun revealing a private members bill will be sent to all MPs this week, with hopes of resolving the matter within a fortnight.

The result of an internal push within the Liberal Party, the bill will be put forward to a party room meeting with an eye on forcing Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to allow a free conscience vote on the matter, which would almost definitely succeed.

Even if Malcy sticks to his infuriating support for the now-defeated plebiscite approach to resolving marriage equality, the MPs behind the bill tell the Sun that several back benchers are prepared to cross the floor to finally get this over and done with.

“It has to be resolved within the next week because it’s starving the government of talking about legislation”, an un-named MP has said, voicing the increasing frustrations within the Liberal Party that the constant debate on the issue is taking away from more important discussions.

Parliament resumes after the winter break next Tuesday August 8th, and if all goes to plan we could be celebrating marriage equality finally making its way to our shores by the end of next week.

Prep yr rainbow flags, this could be it (we really, really fucking hope)!
