With both of those factors in mind, it’s a bloody good thing we just caught news of Vincent. This once-pudgy doggo has somehow shed about 9 kilos since being taken in by The St. Vincent De Paws Society Houston’s K-9 Angels Rescue, and we are just absolutely made up about it.
Look. Look with your special eyes at what Vincent was when he rocked up to the shelter in September last year:
According to trainers / rescuers / IRL heroes Mary Tipon and Melissa Anderson, Vincent was taken to the shelter after his original owner died. It’s also reported he had been fed a fast-food diet, which isn’t too hard to believe by looking at him, and he was suffering from high cholesterol and depression.
Vet Sharon Anderson said “he was friendly, but I could barely discern between his laying down and standing up positions; with his short little legs, there was very little clearance between the floor and his chest and abdomen.”
Then, little by little, the artisinal Bavarian ryebread loaf of a dog became more active through short walks and hydrotherapy. Eventually, this kinda thing happened, proving the motivational power of Kendrick Lamar’s I:
