NSW Liberal Party Panders To Your Love of GIFs, Tries To Woo Voters With ‘Ultimate Labor Fail Guide’

Remember how over the weekend, Republicans in the United States tried to debunk Barack Obama’s immigration policy by eschewing language and using terrible GIFs of white celebrities to do the talking instead? And to later have a lobby genuinely question their sanity? Yeah. The NSW Liberals have caught on to that absolutely prize-winning formula ahead of tomorrow’s State Election in NSW, making a strikingly similar “Ultimate Labor Fail Guide” on their website (nb: the post originally was posted as a community post on Buzzfeed, but seems to have since been removed). With accompanying GIFs.

It’s very much public knowledge that the gang here are rather impartial to a GIF, as it happens. Because this is a pop culture website, FFS. If a knife was put to the internet’s throat and I was able to hold on to only one facet from its depths, I’d ditch Menswear Dog in a heartbeat to save my collection of GIFs.
But when a political party dodges the 24 hour media blackout ahead of the election by having a circle jerk over some GIFs at the last minute, because even though the youth vote is essential to winning an election, Gen Y surely has no clue at what’s going on, so here’s some Taylor Swift looping on repeat for you to help make up your democratic right?

But hey. Don’t listen to me, have a look for yourself
Bashing the opposition is standard practice for political parties in the lead up to an election. Ads on TV in NSW in the past weeks are testament to that, so the fact that the LNP is bashing Labor hard in this isn’t a problem whatsoever. Talking down to youth voters, on the other hand, and wasting an opportunity to bring your A game in terms of GIFs, however?
