If ‘Twilight’ taught us anything, it’s that vampires never truly die – not even when their womb’s being ripped open by a child-demon.
‘The Vampire Diaries’ fave Nina Dobrev has confirmed what has been every fan’s bloody dream since rumours first started circulating months ago: that she’s returning to the series for its finale. Yep, ELENA GILBERT RETURNETH.
Nobrev just posted a photo to Instagram showing a script for the show’s eight season stamped with her name and the caption: “I know it’s Thursday, but this is not a TBT.”
It’s been two, semi-average seasons since we farewelled Elena when she fell into a deep sleep that would only be lifted with the death of her BFF, Bonnie (Kat Graham).
We weren’t ever sure if she’d return, but her ex and on-screen bae Ian Somerhalder has never given up on Elena and Damon Salvatore‘s love story. Never.
“She’s always ever-present, and she plays a great deal into Damon’s morality, his understanding of who he is – especially in these last episodes,” he’s said. “Despite everything he’s gotten involved with, he’s still trying to make decisions Elena would approve of, because she is still the light in his life, even cast in the darkness.”
ELENA + DAMON 5EVA <3
The CW finale airs on March 10, bloodsuckers.
