Let This Fair Dinkum Hero Walk You Through His 7/11 Armed Robbery Take Down

Nick Ziglinis

If there’s one thing out there guaranteed to pull me out of my dumb Monday slump, it’s a bloke named Nick Ziglinis reenacting the moment he tackled a would-be robber at his local 7-Eleven in Melbourne over the weekend.

According to Nine News, a woman in a motorcycle helmet entered the Albert Park store on Saturday allegedly waving a gun at the counter and demanding money. Upon entering the store for his daily coffee, Ziglinis made the “split-second decision” to absolutely “luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunggggggggggeeeeeeeeeee” at the offender.

“Go for glory, you know?” he told Nine News. And go for glory he did. Ziglinis tore the gun, which turned out to be a fake, from the woman’s hand and threw it to the ground.

Then he pulled off his second big move.

“I did my MMA round the head,” Ziglinis said and fully reenacted the cracking take down, big jump and all.

Police arrived around five minutes later and the woman was arrested.

On Sunday afternoon, the Mildura woman faced court on eight charges including armed robbery, aggravated burglary, and associated firearm offences.

7-Eleven Franchisees Ricky Yan and Audrey Zhou said they were incredibly appreciative of their loyal customer, who Yan has been mates with for six solid years.

And in the end, Nick Ziglinis got his coffee.

The glorious and truly Straya “MMA” bit starts at the 55-second point if you want to watch it another 10 times over.
