Like his more established (and well known) Australian namesake, American artist Nick Cave utilizes multiple mediums to explore his creativity. For example his signature work The Soundsuit, mixes aspects of high fashion, contemporary dance, performance art and music.
The Soundsuit was conceived when Cave (who is a trained dancer) discovered that the otherworldly costumes he constructed also made sounds in the form of rustling branches or swooshing fabric and explored the costume’s use as “Soundsuits”.
