Newcastle Knights Champ Accompanies Terminally Ill Student To HS Formal

Consider this your daily Good Egg™ alert, courtesy of NRL baller Trent Hodkinson.

In a pretty damn heart-warming display, the Newcastle Knights gun last night escorted a young fan with terminal cancer to her high school formal.
Kurri Kurri High student Hannah, a mad-as Knights fan, is battling Ewing’s sarcoma. So severe is her diagnosis that the school reportedly brought the formal forward by several months.
Thankfully, Hodkinson – who volunteers through his Tren7’s Kicks For Kids initiative – was on deck to accompany her.

A very cute Instagram story update from the man himself shows the pair having a great time on the way:

A Knights fan account detailed the rest of the eve, posting a shot of the pair cutting a ceremonial cake, and generally being very, very lovely.

Hodkinson and Hannah have a long-running relationship, and an Instagram post shows the pair hanging out earlier in her treatment. He ended up dedicating his performance in the club’s first home game of the 2016 season to the battler.
