After the tragic shooting in San Bernardino in California last week, the New York Daily News printed a controversial and divisive front cover, stating ‘GOD ISN’T FIXING THIS’.
The cover opened much-needed dialogue about the common response from politicians after mass shootings, in which they say they ‘are praying’ for the victims. However, they never actually make tangible movements towards changing the gun laws, or even actively stand for the gun laws to stay the same.

So, the New York Daily News got a helluva lot of backlash for the cover, particularly from American Christians who found it offensive. As we said earlier, it seemed to be taken as an insult to Christianity in general; ‘praying is wrong’, rather than ‘praying isn’t particularly helping the situation’.
Regardless of the reason, it turns out that the NYDN are not the type to take misdirected abuse lying down.
