The New South Wales Government has unveiled a new ad to get people vaccinated and it’s leagues better than the one that shamed young people for not getting a jab we at the time weren’t even eligible for.
Announced this morning, the NSW Government has produced a new COVID-19 vaccine campaign called “Let’s Do This”. Their pitch? Let’s all get vaccinated so we can get back to the things we love.
Think weddings at maximum capacity, footy matches with a packed stadium, music festivals (!!!)… all of it could be ours again if we all get vaccinated and hit that 70% and 80% target. As the voiceover in the ad says: “If we want all of this, book your vaccination at nsw.gov.au. Let’s Do This!”
In the tweet below, you can see that it’s a lighthearted ad full of back and forth shots of post-lockdown life and shots of people receiving a dose of the vaccine or booking their appointment, highlighting the idea that we’ll be able to go back to a normal way of life once we’re all vaccinated.

“NSW has done it tough over the last 18 months but we can’t lose sight of what we’re all
aiming for, which is to open the state back up again,” Minister for Digital and Customer Service Victor Dominello said in a statement.
“This ad hopes to capture what we’re working towards and the importance vaccinations
play in that recovery.”
The Let’s Do This NSW vaccine ad will play on radio, TV, social media and in newspapers from Sunday 29th August in over 19 languages and adapted for Indigenous Australian media channels. You love to bloody see it.
“NSW recently passed six and a half million vaccinations and it’s vital we keep this
momentum going,” Dominello added.
“Vaccinations don’t just protect ourselves, our family, our friends, and our community, they will get us back doing the things we love to do.
“Anyone that is yet to make a booking for their first vaccination can get online and book
an appointment.”
Last month, the Federal Government was heavily criticised for airing an NSW vaccine ad that seemingly shamed young people for not getting vaccinated when a majority of us were ineligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at the time. Compared to other vaccine ads around the world, it was extremely tone-deaf and played out like a horror film. So, when it comes to this new ad by the State Government, I, for one, am glad to see it.
