Fox and National Geographic have announced that they are in the process of investigating Neil deGrasse Tyson for sexual misconduct, days after two women came forward with claims against the famed astrophysicist.

Tyson currently hosts a reboot of the classic Carl Sagan series Cosmos, the second season of which is set to premiere in 2019. In light of the recent allegations, the producers behind the show gave a statement to Deadline, saying:

“The credo at the heart of Cosmos is to follow the evidence wherever it leads. The producers of Cosmos can do no less in this situation. We are committed to a thorough investigation of this matter and to act accordingly as soon as it is concluded.”

In a joint statement, Fox and National Geographic said:

“We have only just become aware of the recent allegations regarding Neil deGrasse Tyson. We take these matters very seriously and we are reviewing the recent reports.”

One of the accusers is Dr. Katelyn N. Allers, who claims Tyson groped her at a party following a meeting of the American Astronomical Society in 2009. The other is Ashley Watson, Tyson’s former assistant, who claims that she had to quit her job thanks to inappropriate sexual advances.

Last year, another woman, musician Tchiya Amet, accused the TV host of sexually assaulting her when they were both students at the University of Austin.

Neil deGrasse Tyson has not yet made a statement on the investigation.
