NBN Installer Sentenced For Stealing More Than 80 Nude Photos From Clients

A 25-year-old tradie from New South Wales has been sentenced to more than a year of home detention after he stole 82 nude or private photos from female clients.

When he arrived at the home of a young woman to install the NBN, Aydin Agar would reportedly ask to use her phone to connect to her Wi-Fi.

Then, when she wasn’t looking, he’d look through her photos, send any titillating ones to his own phone, and then delete any evidence of the messages.

He apparently did this to no less than five female customers, in the Sydney suburbs of Zetland and Mascot. The photos he sent to himself included women in lingerie, nude, and one video of a sex act. He was only discovered because his last victim found that he’d left the photos open on her phone.

Although there’s no evidence that Agar sent the images to anyone else, it’s still a shocking invasion of privacy. Magistrate Jennifer Atkinson called his crimes “completely and utterly unacceptable“.

He abused the women’s trust and inflicted substantial emotional harm on the victims who lived in fear their sensitive private images would be spread around the world.

Agar has lost his $2000/week gig as an NBN installer – thankfully – and is reportedly also seeking psychological help for his behaviour. He’ll be under home detention for 16 months.
