As the BBC is reporting, the kangaroo was spotted multiple times over the weekend but is currently still at large, with the police reportedly treating it as a ‘missing pet’ case.
Local police told Agence France-Press that they have no idea where it’s come from: “We have called all the zoos and kangaroo breeders around us, but no one is missing a kangaroo. We hope the owner will come forward.”
Eyewitness Rush Kastner told radio station ORF Oberösterreich that she and her husband spotted the roo hanging out on the edge of the forest on Saturday morning.
I for one hope the thing never gets caught and lives on and as some sort of local cryptid, like the Lithgow Panther.
