Mysterious Debris Sparks Fresh Speculation On MH370

Mysterious, yet to be identified aviation wreckage has been found off the East coast of Africa on the French-controlled island of La Reunion, sparking fresh speculation into the whereabouts of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370, which disappeared off air traffic radars on March 8, 2014, with 239 passengers on board.

Wreckage was found overnight on a La Reunion beach, assumed to be part of a plane’s wing, according to 9 News

Avation experts have speculated on a link between the found debris and MH370, as it could also belong to a Boeing 777, the same aircraft as the lost Malaysian Airlines flight. French aviation expert Xavier Tytelman told the Telegraph, “We [Tytelman and colleagues] all think it is likely that the wing is that of a Boeing 777 – the same plane as MH370.”

The location of the wreckage is far from previous MH370 searches – the biggest being an Australian-led operation in the Indian Ocean, over a 50,000 kilometre area.

A formal investigation of the newly-found wreckage has begun.
